When did you stay at the apartment? For how long?
May 2003 - May 2004
What were the advantages of staying at the complex? What were the disadvantages?Excellent location -- close to shops, restaurants, Whole Foods, movie theater, Metro. Quiet apartments, very modern, helpful staff, underground parking, allows cats. No disadvantages.
Can you get by without a car at this complex? With just one car?
Yes. There is underground parking (extra fee), but Metro (Red line) is only a few blocks away.
Do the rental rates fall within per diem? For how long?Rental rates within per diem for months 1-4. Property manager is flexible with payment arrangements.
Do you have any specific advice for people who will be staying at this complex? Are some buildings more desirable than others, for example?Discuss your financial situation with the property manager (e.g., per diem). They enjoy having State people here. They also have deals with furniture rental companies, so it's more economical to rent an unfurnished apartment and then rent furniture separately. You do have to pay utilities, but they are negligible ($15/month heat and AC, $10/month water). Excellent cable TV and high-speed internet access.
