Foreign Born Spouses GrouP
The Foreign-Born Spouses (FBS) Group is dedicated to highlighting the essential role of foreign-born EFMs (Eligible Family Members) within the Foreign Service community. They represent a substantial and valuable segment of our Foreign Service community. Their unique backgrounds and perspectives not only enhance the diversity within the department but also significantly enhance its global perspective and cultural understanding.
If you’re an EFM in the DMV area, we invite you to connect with fellow foreign-born spouses through our organization. We host in-person events, monthly happy hours, and various activities to explore the area and create networking opportunities.
For those currently posted overseas, we host monthly virtual meet-ups to share experiences and offer mutual support. We typically use Google Meet for these sessions, but you can also join by phone from anywhere.
