AAFSW is delighted to invite you to learn the essentials of Tai Chi to relax and benefit your health.
In these stressful times, we need to look for ways to improve our health. What better way than joining us for a relaxing session led by Shunying Barela, a gold medalist in international Tai Chi competition, with wins in Hong Kong, Orlando and Dallas. She will be presenting the 8 Movement Form, a short form which can be learned in one two-hour session.

Taijiquan, commonly called Tai Chi in the West, is a Chinese martial art largely practiced for its health benefits. Like any exercise, it is good for muscle tone, endurance and strength. However, it is especially good for preventing falls as it focuses on balance and body alignment. Further, it helps reduce hypertension and the ills caused by stress because of its slow-motion movement and meditative nature. It is an excellent all round, low impact exercise.
This free class will take place Tuesday, August 5th, at the AAFSW Randolph Towers Community Room from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a brown bag lunch to eat together after class.
