The SOSA Legacy Report

AAFSW is pleased to share the SOSA Legacy Report, "Focus on 2022/2025 Award Program," which highlights the enduring impact of the Secretary of State Award for Outstanding Volunteerism Abroad (SOSA).

The report reflects how SOSA awardees broadened perspectives across our global community. Their volunteer work consistently strengthens the U.S. presence overseas through creativity, compassion, and civic engagement. Even as SOSA enters a period of transition, the commitment of our volunteers and awardees stays unwavering; they continue to lead with initiative and generosity wherever they serve.

The cancellation of the 2025 SOSA ceremony and the likely pause of the 2026 SOSA Award program, both occurring independently of AAFSW, make this publication an important record of SOSA’s legacy.
