Join us on Friday, July 18, at 11:30 am for a very special art presentation and tour to the beautiful residence of the artist Olga Sheymov, who will enlighten us with her wonderful art exhibit.

We will have the opportunity to admire the unique "Swan Dance artwork,” an oil-on-canvas painting featuring two swans in an elegant, almost ethereal composition. The swans, positioned close together with gracefully curved necks, create a sense of intimacy and harmony. Their wings are outstretched, capturing a moment of poised motion, almost like a dance.

Please register by July 15 and bring a dish to share.

    Olga Sheymov's Bio

Olga Sheymov’s art, like her life, alludes to the extraordinary. Artist, engineer, television producer and graphic designer, Olga paints in allegorical surrealism, infusing her artistic vision with philosophical and moral implications.

Olga was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. Her parents were stationed at a remote naval base in the Arctic Circle on the White Sea near Murmansk. Olga pursued her degree in engineering and worked at the Central Institute for Information.

The summer after graduation Olga was assigned to a Canadian delegation at the Student Olympic Games in Russia. Here the KGB tried to push Olga into the middle of an espionage game between a Canadian spy and KGB operational officers. She resisted and soon what seemed like a chance encounter, Olga met Victor Sheymov, a charming and resourceful young man who helped get her out of the threatening KGB situation. Their love story and eventual escape from the Soviet Union is described in the book Tower of Secrets V. Sheymov and Tiebreaker.

After the fall of communism and the Soviet Union, Olga turned to television, seeing an opportunity to help foster understanding of the Russian people and their fascinating cultural history.  In 1995 she created the award winning TV series, Russia Today, produced in the Washington, DC area. This half-hour program brings Russians and Americans together to share and compare not only differences but also similarities highlighting a common humanity.

Having received her degree in Industrial and Graphic Design from Georgia Tech, she creates her art using different media including oils, watercolor and airbrush. Olga’s art is very distinct, reflecting her vast talent, combined with unique life experience. Her allegories draw upon music, literature and religion. Olga Sheymov’s paintings are found in private and corporate collections in the United States as well as Europe.

Olga Sheymov developed and produced over 60 episodes for Your Source TV. Your Source TV is designed to be your innovative intelligent resource for identifying problems and featuring people dedicated to making a difference in your life. Based in the Washington, DC metropolitan region, YSTV is an exciting blend of health and wellness, business, art, science and culture.

Olga produced over 100 Real Life Stories for the past 20 years.  The stories we tell about ourselves are the key to our well-being. Listening to our personal stories is an excellent way to learn about different cultures and customs while gaining insight into the individual through the experiences that shaped our lives.
